I love the site Jazz On The Tube, because it sends out YouTube links to obscure jazz video gems by the greats and lesser known artists as well. Today they highlighted something different – a video of a show featuring composer Howard Goodall going into detail about music theory, with this episode focusing on melody.
He covers origins of melody, intervals, scales, modes and how they work in a variety of contexts throughout music history. If you are interested in music, you should find this fascinating!
